Pawan Jallad (born in 1962) is a hangman from Meeru, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is the hangman for the convicts of the Nirbhaya bus gang rape case. Pawan hangman was recorded in history with the hanging of Nirbhaya’s four convicts on Friday, 20 March 2020.
Till now no one had hanged 4 convicts in Tihar. Pawan has broken the record of his grandfather by hanging four people together.

After going to Tihar jail many times, Pawan Jallad hangman of Meerut finally made the history of hanging himself in Delhi on Friday morning. No executioner ever gave four executions in Tihar Jail. This family does the work of executing since the time of the British rule in the country. Now Pawan has broken the record of his grandfather by giving four hangings together.
Pawan Jaldad had reached Delhi Tihar Jail twice before to hang Nirbhaya convicts but had to return to Meerut due to legal stitching.
However, he was mentally ready to be hanged as soon as he was nominated by the UP government to be hanged. Several times in Meerut jail, he tested the specifics of hanging and took the training. He used to say this every time that his dream of hanging Bitiya’s criminals together should be fulfilled soon, which happened on Friday.
However, Pawan Jallad had revealed that his father had this dream, but he could not get this chance. Pawan claims that becoming a hangman is his family profession. He had learned to hang with his grandfather Kallu’s executioner.
With the hanging, not only Pawan’s dreams but also his grandfather’s and father’s dreams were fulfilled. Till now Pawan’s grandfather and great grandfather never hanged four people together. Pawan hangman broke this record by hanging Nirbhaya’s culprits on Friday.

The executioner has been working in Pawan Jallad’s family for four generations. The executioner is the fourth generation of the Pawan family to carry on the family legacy. His family has been doing this work for almost fifty years. Pawan’s father Mamu Jallad hanged the two convicts.
